A popular Japanese restaurant and sushi bar in Chiswick has announced it will sadly close its doors to diners this weekend.

Chisou, a Japanese dining room, on Barley Mow Passage, is to cease trading on Saturday, November 29.

The restaurant which was given a five star rating by our very own food critique earlier this year in March, said it will honour reservations made up until this date but any after will be transferred to their Mayfair or Knightsbridge locations.

Staff will be relocated to positions within one of the company's other restaurants and noone is expected to lose their job.

Managing director David Leroy said: "It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to close our restaurant in Chiswick, but other opportunities have arisen which have made the current business untenable.

"I hope to see our Chiswick regulars in Knightsbridge and Mayfair and look forward to welcoming the service team in our other restaurants."

Saga Japanese Restaurants explained the site which it owns the freehold for can be used in more profitable ways.

It hopes to relocate all fixtures and fittings to a new location in the New Year but a premises is still being sought.

The team at Chisou thanked all customers and Chiswick residents who have visited over the last three years.
