Pimm’s has long been the tipple of the nation’s most eagerly awaited tennis tournament, but this summer, it celebrates with the announcement of a host of new events to support Wimbledon.

Restaurants and bars across the area are celebrating Wimbledon 2017 with a tasty selection of tennis themed food and drink.

From dainty afternoon tea s to jugs of punchy Pimms, you'll certainly be able to indulge in the British tennis tournament this summer.

Here are some of our favourite Wimbledon themed delights to make your mouth water.

1. Wimbledon-themed afternoon tea

The Petersham Restaurant in Richmond will be serving up a themed afternoon tea from July 3-16.

The sporting tea will include tennis-themed sweet treats, such as a ‘tie-breaker’ passionfruit curd and strawberry tart, a ‘break point’ hazelnut praline opera cake and a ‘set point’ choux bun, as well as freshly-made sandwiches and scones served with jam and clotted cream.

From July 3, The Pimm’s Wimbledon Bar will be available on the terrace of Selfridges Roof Deck Restaurant and Bar in Oxford Street, London.

Tennis fans will be able to watch live coverage of the games while enjoying a glass of the summertime drink.

3. The Wimbledon Menu

The Ivy Café in Wimbledon has launched a tennis themed drinks menu to celebrate the upcoming championships.

Available from June 15-July 16, offerings include The Pimmbledon cocktail (Pimm’s No.1 with Tanqueray gin and all the trimmings), the classic Pimm’s No.1 Cup, The Pimm’s Fizz (finished with Champagne) and The Gentleman’s Mule (with ginger ale).

4. Strawberry gin

Bloom has launched a limited edition strawberry gin for the summer season and of course Wimbledon.

Called Bloom Strawberry Cup, the rich and luxurious ruby red drink has a delicious infusion of strawberry jam flavourings and is available to buy now from Asda , Booths and 31Dover.com at £18 a bottle.

5. Live screening and picnic

Design Centre Chelsea Harbour will be showing live coverage and serving a host of summery treats from July 3-14.

There will be cold-pressed ‘deuce’ from B Fresh, made from fresh fruit, vegetables and leafy greens and healthy snacks from Emily Fruit Crisps.

There will also be strawberries and cream, rosé wine and a picnic including fruit scones, mini sandwiches, Eton Mess and Victoria sponge).

6. Garden centre cream teas

Squire’s Garden Centres around Surrey and Hampshire will be serving delicious Wimbledon cream tea from July 1-16.

Enjoy a scone with jam and clotted cream, a refreshing pot of loose-leaf tea, plus a scrumptious Eton Mess for £5.95 per person.
