A Brentford café selling mobster-inspired sandwiches has proved a hit with customers.

Goodfillas opened in Ealing Road, Brentford, opposite the Great West Quarter development, on November 14 last year.

The store, where top sellers include 'ball breaking jerk chicken' and the 'wise guy wiener', celebrated its first anniversary last Friday.

Boss Lorraine O'Dea, who lives in Brentford, worked in administration in the catering industry before opening the café, where all the sauces and sandwiches are homemade.

She said she was grateful to hungry builders working near the site for making her first year such a success.

"I've been very lucky with the location, with all the building work going on around here, and I've learned a lot about catering both before I opened and in the last year," she added.

In keeping with the mobster movie theme, the coffee is imported from Naples but, like much of her produce, is supplied by a local business, Kimbo, in Chiswick.

Speaking ahead of Small Business Saturday next month, she advised other budding entrepreneurs to 'stick with it'.

"I've always had a passion for cooking and wanted to open my own business. I'd urge anyone else looking to follow their passion to go for it," she added.
