Whether you're a Big Mac fan, a Happy Meal toy collector or you like to simply grab a coffee or a McFlurry on the go, many of us will stop into our local McDonald's at some point.

Being such a huge multi-national chain, you'd expect hygiene standards to be consistently high - and for the most part they are.

We scoured food hygiene ratings for of all west London's McDonald's outlets and found the majority were rated 'very good' or 5* for hygiene - but not all of them made the cut.

The Food Standards Agency, a government department, works with local authorities to ensure food businesses comply with food hygiene laws.

The top rating of five means that the business was found to have ‘very good’ hygiene standards.

All information has been taken directly from the Food Standards Agency website and was correct as of June 22 2017

Brent

Brent has a total of five restaurants, but one didn't make the '5' rating.

Kilburn High Road McDonald's scored a '4' or 'good' on January 26 2017.

Ealing

Home to eight restaurants, all scored a '5' bar one, which is yet to be rated.

The McDonald's at 12 Leamington Park, Acton , is currently awaiting inspection.

Harrow

This borough has the lowest-rated McDonald's in west London. Of three restaurants, two scored a '5' rating, but this one didn't fare as well.

The McDonald's on the ground floor of St George's Shopping Centre in Harrow scored a 3/5 during an inspection on November 22 2016, indicating it was 'generally satisfactory'.

Hammersmith and Fulham

All three McDonald's restaurants here scored 5/5.

Hillingdon

This borough is home to seven restaurants, from Ruislip to Hayes , and all scored a '5' for food hygiene.

Hounslow

All four of McDonald's restaurants here scored 5/5.

Kensington and Chelsea

Another borough which sees all restaurants score a '5', all four restaurants here are 'very good'.

Westminster

Out of a whopping 19 restaurants, only one scored less than a '5'.

The McDonald's at 47 Whitehall received a '4' or 'good' rating on April 27 2017.

Branches at Marble Arch, Queensway and at Victoria Place in Buckingham Palace Road are all currently awaiting an inspection.
