Halloween afternoon tea available at this luxury hotel - and everything is black and white!

The devilishly good afternoon tea includes axe-carved beef, chocolate and coconut scones and black Sunday battenberg

This Halloween, Royal Lancaster London is giving their delectable afternoon tea a spooky twist where everything on the plate is black and white.

Built in 1967, the luxury four star Hyde Park hotel is going back to the 1960s to celebrate its 50th birthday.

Re-opening following an £80 million renovation – or re-‘vamp’ – the hotel is thrilled to launch its hair-raising Halloween Afternoon Tea, available from October 17-31.

Customers can indulge in a truly spook-tacular experience inspired by 1960s classic horror movies.

The 1960s Halloween Afternoon Tea is priced at £35 per person

A very cold welcome awaits diners, with Alfred Hitchcock classics flickering from a projector and The Little Shop of Horrors’ Audrey sitting at tables.

Guests will be able to pull the curtains back on a scene of savoury classics; though not all is as it seems...

What's on the menu?

Would you be brave enough to try the axe-carved beef with horseradish, the ominous crab sushi and the pitch black pudding scotch egg?

Diners will be able to sink their fangs into an array of sickly-sweet confections so good they could bring the dead to life.

A very cold welcome awaits diners

Things get grisly with a cursed blackbird macaroon, psycho marbled lollipops, black Sunday battenberg, night of the living tart and a haunted panna cotta.

The final nails in the coffin are the chocolate and coconut scones, served fresh from the oven with homemade blackberry jam and clotted-blood cream.

The Halloween Afternoon Tea is accompanied by a selection of fresh loose leaf teas and a glass of Lanson Black Label or the slightly sweeter Lanson White Label.
