Great news for Uber fans! Users of the app can claim a FREE ice cream this Friday as part of a promotion.

The private hire vehicle company is offering a free Magnum ice cream to users of the mobile app on Friday July 15.

The offer is available in 400 cities across the world - including London!

Londoners will be able to request an ice cream through the normal Uber app, and it will even be delivered right to them.

This means that every person who puts in a successful request through the app will get a box of FOUR Magnums delivered right to them.

Uber has been running its #UberIceCream campaign for a number of years, but this year has teamed up with Magnum.

The campaign is being run in 69 countries, including Australia, India, New Zealand, America and the UK.

Uber has previously delivered cute kittens to stressed workers on National Cat Day and handed out roses on Valentine's Day.

How do I get some free ice cream?

  • Open the Uber app on Friday, July 15, between 11am - 7pm
  • Set your location.
  • Select the Ice Cream icon in the app and hit request
  • If your request is successful, ice cream will be delivered in minutes

What if my request isn't successful?

Uber has said they will try to deliver as many ice creams as they can between 11am and 7pm on Friday, but demand could be high.

If your request is unsuccessful at first or there are no drivers available at that time, you can keep trying up until 7pm or until a driver is free.

Do I need the app?

Yes. Everyone who is registered on the app by July 15 will see the Ice Cream icon when they open it.

If you don't already have the app, you can download it from App Store or Google Play - set up an account and register your contact and card details.
