So coming in at number one with spectacular views across our beautiful capital is... *drum roll please*.

1. Aqua Shard

Yes, where better to start your day than gazing across the bustling streets of London enjoying a cup of coffee?

And that is not all that's on the menu, diners can choose from a selection of Danish pastries, a full English breakfast with not one, but two free range eggs.

You can also go all out and choose the lobster benedict or enjoy smoked salmon with avocado.

The set menu costs £29, but I guess it's not every morning you can sink your teeth into a slice of treacle smoked cured bacon and admire our beautiful city from above.

One review says: "Great experience, best views in London complimented by wonderful fresh foods served by a team of very efficient service team."

2. OXO Tower Brasserie

Coming in at number two is the OXO Tower Brasserie, also a venue which offers beautiful views of London across the River Thames .

"The food is amazing, delicious and with a wide possibility of choice, but the best feature is the staff: the customer care is excellent" says one review.

While another says: "Delicious food and friendly, but not over-intrusive, service."

You can enjoy weekend brunch from 12 midday until 3pm, where treats are not just of the savoury variety.

3. Winter Garden at The Landmark London Hotel

With reviews like: "Amazing setting" and "fantastic food", this is certainly a place which should guarantee you the perfect start to your day.

For you English Breakfast lovers, don't worry, that delicious meal certainly has a place on the menu.. can you call it a breakfast menu if it didn't?

Diners can also choose from Danish pastries and freshly prepared omelettes cooked to personal preference.

Breakfast is served from 7am until 11am on weekdays and until 11.30am at weekends.

4. Balans Soho Society - Soho

Nestled in the heart of Soho, this bohemian style restaurant has all you could want from a breakfast.

Eggs and bacon, fluffy pancakes and the icing on top of the cake, Bloody Mary cocktails, who said alcohol should be reserved for lunch and dinner time?

One review says: "The service was fabulous, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect."

A Soho Full English will set you back £10, and if you opt for the steak, yes, there is steak for breakfast, it will cost you £13.

5. The Ritz Restaurant - London

The Ritz, one of the jewels in west London's crown, takes the number five spot.

It is, as everyone knows, one of the most prestigious hotels in London, so expect to dig deep into your wallet.

A continental buffet breakfast will cost you £35, with an English Breakfast coming in at £39, inclusive of the continental buffet.

The menu will make your mouth water though, with Scottish smoked salmon and quail eggs being just two of the luxuries to choose from.

One review says: "The Ritz dining room is impressive, rich in its decoration.

"The staff attention to detail was of the very highest standard and the meal did not disappoint in any way."
