Choosing from braised rabbit with polenta, to gnocchi with mussels and clams, a main course will cost you around £20.

2. The Oval Restaurant at The Wellesley

Located at the heart of west London, this Knightsbridge restaurant takes second place.

Slightly pricier than the 1st place restaurant, an average main course will cost you around £28.

"Consistency always in service and food" one review says.

Another says: "Fabulous evening from start to finish, service was impeccable, food superb, 2nd visit, will certainly be back again soon."

From the menu you can pick anything from a gourmet pizza to grilled meats and seafood dishes including homemade cod brandade ravioli, or salt-crusted wild sea bass with seasonal vegetables.

3. Amaranto - Four Seasons London

"Excellent food options and quality" is what awaits you at this restaurant according to one review.

Located within the Four Seasons Hotel on Park Lane, a main course will cost you on average around £26.

Enjoy meals from potato gnocchi with pan-fried Scottish langoustine and wild mushroom broth, in a restaurant which blends tradition with modernity in an intimate setting.

4. Massimo Restaurant

Just a stone's throw away from Covent Garden, Massimo offers Italian classics alongside house recipes like sea bass with caramelised endive or fillet of venison, mushroom, chard and chocolate sauce.

Corinthian columns line the dining room, where you can expect to pay around £18 for a main meal.

5. Orso - Covent Garden
