Green-fingered members of the nature club at Southville Infant and Nursery school have nominated the large oak tree in their playground.
"It’s the largest tree in our school. It attracts birds and squirrels into our playground. It gives us shade.
It's fun collecting acorns. We are so proud of it, we wear it on our uniform.
This tree is very special to us, as it should have been cut down to make way for the new school building in the early 1990s. But the children who attended at the time petitioned to save it and the new building had to be built to accommodate the tree."
