Chronicle Tree Idol contestant Mary Huxley is rooting for a certain cedar tree that has captured her heart since she was a child.
The 85-year-old, of Church Walk, Brentford, said the tree in Boston Manor Park provided hours of shade and happy playtime beneath its branches.
She said: "Since then I have had many picnics there with my children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren."
Mary even recalls a fundraiser for Brentford Hospital which included a parade that ended in the park. She fondly remembers noticing the tree as she sat in the fairground watching the closing fireworks display of the evening.
