Ealing Classic Cinema club runs screenings of brilliant classic films every Friday at 7.30pm, so even if the weather's horrible you can enjoy a great event in the warmth. This week's film is Academy-Award-Nominated Ninotchka.

Visit a museum

There are plenty of amazing museums in west London, including the world-famous Natural History Museum and Science Museum, both in South Kensington .

At the moment, the Science Museum have a fascinating 3D exhibit all about the ocean floor, stunning creatures of the sea, the unique beauty and natural wonder of the oceans and the impact of global climate change on our ecosystems, narrated by Jim Carrey.

The Library at Willesden Green hosts Art for all Seasons exhibition

With amazing art galleries such as the V&A and The Saatchi Gallery on your doorstep in west London, why not use the bad weather as an excuse to see some of the most gorgeous artworks in the country?

On display until Thursday January 28 is the Art for All Seasons exhibition in Willesden. Wembley Art Society is presenting an exhibition of paintings on the theme of changes in the seasons and they way these changes are celebrated in different cultures... Don't miss out!

Go trampolining

Oxygen trampoline park

London's first ever trampoline park opened on July 20 and looks to be loads of fun!

Oxygen is 27,000sq-ft and offers hour-long freejumping sessions with access to dodgeball courts, air bags, 'walk the wall trampolines' and an obstacle course.

Oxygen also offers family bounce sessions, fitness classes, a professional trampolining academy for aspiring gymnasts, parkour classes, and Teen Takeovers which include two hours of strobe-lit bouncing with a live DJ.

Private rooms for children's parties and PE lessons for schools, and a café area with homemade pizza, make the centre a perfect day out for the whole family.

Go to the theatre

The sleet and rain outside is a great excuse to cosy up and watch some funny, tragic or epic theatre; and we have no shortage of brilliant venues in west London.

The Beck Theatre in Hayes have a performance from legendary group The Searchers coming up on Saturday January 9, while The Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith are about to launch their first play of the year, Simon Stephens' Herons on Friday January 15.

Or you could travel in to the West End and see a epic musicals such as Les Mis or Wicked.
