DUBLIN singer-songwriter Fiach Moriarty released his debut album So i in March on his own label Marcella Records. It was quickly named 'album of the week' on Ireland's national radio station RT1.

Fiach is a 27-year-old Dubliner, well-respected and loved for his beautiful songwriting, exceptional voice and fantastic guitar playing.

Songs for Christmas

AWARD-winning female choir Jubilate presents a selection of festive favourites, including Sleigh Ride, O Holy Night and Gaudete at a carol concert.

Carols at Christmas will take place at St John's Church, in Greenhill, Harrow. Jubilate were runners-up in the Mid-Somerset Festival in Bath, and won the Ladies' Choir Class at Cheltenham Festival and the Clash of the Choirs - a fundraising event for Michael Sobell House in Northwood.

Find the beat at open mic night

FEATURING some of the most exciting poets and storytellers around the globe, this monthly night called Poets Get Paid captures the essence of the spoken word.

Hosted by Oneness and Poets Get Paid, there will be an open mic session at the beginning of the night for any budding poets.

Also, award-winning 25-year-old poet, presenter, producer and director Dean Atta, who co-wrote and co-produced the critically acclaimed musical Scratched Out - The Urban Musical, will take to the stage.

Dean has received several writing commissions, including poems for Maya Angelou's 80th birthday gala at the Dorchester Hotel and the Gay Icons exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery.

Scrooge and Co get the Disney treatment

CHARLES Dickens' classic festive tale - A Christmas Carol - is given the Disney animated magic, with Jim Carrey providing the voice for Ebeneezer Scrooge.

A midnight visit from the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come show the miserly Scrooge the error of his ways, both old and new, and how his behaviour affects those around him, including his loyal clerk, Bob Cratchit (Gary Oldman) and cheery nephew Fred (Colin Firth).

Bob Hoskins, Robin Wright Penn, Cary Elwes and Fionnula Flanagan also lend their voices in this spectacular adventure that is guaranteed to chase the humbug away.
