WHEN Maureen Lippiatt takes to the stage this weekend in Gloc Musical Theatre's production of Just So, at Questors Theatre, it will be her 75th performance with the company.

In the 40 years since she joined in 1970 she has performed in every show. She says she has loved every one of them, but Just So is the first time she has played a cake!

Maureen, who moved to Hanwell with her family from Notting Hill the day the Second

World War broke out, originally joined the company, formerly known as Greenford Light Opera, when an aunt, who had also moved to the area, dragged her along to rehearsals.

Little did she think it would keep her busy on Wednesday evenings for the next 40 years!

Just So is an eclectic upbeat musical based on the stories of Rudyard Kipling and worth a visit if only to see this amazing woman.

Drop in and marvel

ONE of its kind is how the Bright Sky exhibition is described - and it is worth a look for its sheer individuality.

Photonpaintings is the description Latvian artist Gints Gabrans gives to his work, which features images created by breaking a laser beam inside a drop of water.

The beam is shined through the drop and the reflected white light of the laser beam disperses into all the colours of the spectrum.

Gints, a well-known Latvian contemporary artist, has won many awards and exhibited his work in Europe, Australia and the USA.
