The gunge-tastic television game show Fun House will return for one day only, thanks to a Ruislip pub.

The Fairway has teamed up with the CITV programme’s original host, Pat Sharp, and cheerleader twins Melanie and Martina Grant for a recreation of the 1990s family favourite.

The Fayre & Square pub, located at Ruislip Golf Club, in Ickenham Road, is looking for four teams – made up of one parent and one child each – to compete in the event, which is scheduled to take place in Lichfield, Staffordshire on June 13.

Contestants will go head-to-head in games including the gunge tank quiz and the go karts race, competing for a family holiday worth £1,000 and other prizes.

Mr Sharp said: “It’s been a dream of mine to bring back Fun House for over a decade, so I’m over the moon that – in some shape or form – it’s finally happening.

“The Family Fun House day looks set to be extremely exciting and Melanie, Martina and I can’t wait to get out there and do what we do best – host Fun House.”

Jason Moran, the pub’s general manager, added: “We’re thrilled to be bringing back Fun House.

“It’s about time mums and dads had some fun too, and so we’re not only offering a heap of nostalgia for the parents, but also a chance for them to take part and get messy.

“We’re expecting lots of entries and can only choose four teams of two to take part in our Family Fun House event, so we would encourage families to shout about how wacky their family is when applying.”

Parents must nominate themselves and a child by midnight on Saturday, May 30. Those chosen to take part will be notified by phone or email after the competition has closed.
