Music, Dancing and lots of Colour

The London Mela returns to Gunnersbury Park this summer, offering locals a chance to see live performance from over 300 music artists.

Europe's Biggest South Indian festival offers families a day of Indian music, food and amusement rides. The Mela has been working in partnership with the BBC Asian network, and so has attracted the biggest names in Indian music in the past. Included in the days festivities is the Magic Mela family area and the Classical stage. This free event is a great way to celebrate London's diversity.

Summer activity camps

As part of a nation wide scheme to provide summer activities for children, Fit for Sport are organizing a number of camps in Ealing. At Trailfinders Sportsclub, children can take part in arts and crafts, sport and street dancing. Additionally, at the Brentham club, children will have the chance to hone their football skills at one of the organisation's football camps. These local camps allow children to get active on their summer holidays, and helps them take advantage of the glorious British summer weather.

Outdoor cinema in August

The Rooftop Film Club presents its annual summer series of outdoor cinema. The cinema company will be present a variety of film genres for locals to watch. These include classic films, such as Casablanca and Top Gun, and new films, such as Dallas Buyers Club and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Offering stunning views, the outdoor cinema is a wonderful way to relax at the end of a long summer's day.

Sixteenfeet production company is showcasing a Summer performance of Alice in the Walled Garden this August.

Visitors will be able to walk around the Walled Garden and interact with the set, bringing Lewis Carroll's famous storyline to life. Suitable for all ages, the production is based amongst the beautiful surroundings of Walpole Park. There will be two performances each day. Why not join the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat and the Catepillar for an afternoon of sunshine and drama.

Patterns, paintings and sculptures

This summer Pitzhanger Manor House and Gallery presents a series of art workshops for children.

The workshops are aimed at getting children creative during their summer holidays. Spread across August, they will give children a chance to sculpt bent stools in celebration of the 80 anniversary of Alvar Aalto's famous bent stool, and make their own personalised light fittings. The art gallery has put on four of these workshops in order to allow children to hone their artistic skills.
