Pokémon fans rejoice - Pokémon GO has finally been released in the UK!

Although the app was already available in the US, Australia and New Zealand, you couldn't get it in the UK unless you found a way round to download it with an American Apple ID (like we did).

We went out on July 13 to give it a go in Southall, and our reporter was immediately hooked and hasn't put it down since , much to the anger of his friends and workmates.

And now the game's creators, Nitendo and Niantic have unleashed the game on the UK after it was released in Germany on Wednesday, sending hundreds of thousands of people in a nostalgic frenzy.

The game lets people roam about using their phone's GPS system and catch Pokémon 'in real life' using the camera on their phone, which lets them 'see' the Pokémon on the streets.

It's not all fun and games, however, with people being warned of the dangers of playing the game on roads and in dangerous places .

You can get the Pokémon GO app through the App Store on iOS and through Google Play on Android.

Happy hunting!
