Expectant mums and existing parents living in Westminster can learn some new tricks by attending new parenting classes.

The course is called Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities and runs for 13-weeks. It is designed to show parents how to build strong ethnic and cultural roots with their children, learn life skills, self-esteem, self-discipline and how to integrate into the community.

It is being organised by Peabody’s, one of oldest and largest housing providers in London. Chief Executive Stephen Howlett said: “I understand that being a parent can be one of the most rewarding jobs in the world but also one of the most challenging. We at Peabody want to help parents to build a positive relationship with their child which can have a huge positive impact on individuals, families and their community."

The class begins on January 13 at Queen Park Children’s Centre in Bravington Road. It is being delivered in partnership with the City of Westminster Children’s Services and Big Lottery Fund.
