The Natural History Museum is opening its famous ice rink this week.

The ice rink, which is set against the stunning backdrop of the Waterhouse building, will open on Thursday (October 26).

Skaters can experience the thrill of gliding around the ice surrounded by twinkling fairy lights nestled in frost-covered trees.

Whether you can dance on ice like Torvill and Dean, or you skate more like Bambi, all abilities are welcome.

If you fancy an après-skate snack, the Café Bar has a bird's-eye view of the rink and is open daily until the rink closes.

Skaters can warm up with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mulled wine.

How to book tickets

Book your skate session online to guarantee your place or buy your tickets from the box office when you arrive.

Remember, you may have to wait for your turn on the ice if you haven't booked your session in advance, especially during peak times.

The ice rink is open from Thursday October 26- Sunday January 7.

Open 11am-9pm daily. Tickets cost from £8.80- £39.60.
