Schoolchildren and stilt walkers will lead a lantern parade which will light up Feltham town centre next week.

About 110 pupils from Edward Pauling Primary and Victoria Junior schools will march down the High Street displaying their festive lanterns along the route to The Centre shopping centre, marking the start of this year's Winters Night Carnival on Wednesday (12).

The children took part in special lantern-making workshops in the week's ahead of the event.

Another group of both adult and young volunteers from The Challenge Network will also show off their large lantern installations, artworks which will lead the way to the main Piazza in The Centre, where the remaining festive fun will continue.

Among the entertainment at the night-time festival will include carol singing from Southville Singers of Southville Junior School and Reach Academy 's Glee Club, performances from dancers, and a magical finale with Circus Suburbia 's poi glow show.

The event has been organised by The Centre, Feltham, Feltham Arts Association and Hounslow council.

The parade leaves Victoria Junior School at 4.45pm.

Event finishes at 5.30pm.
