A bear, a hippo and a camel are some of the new faces you will see if you get down to London Wetland Centre this half-term.

Children and adults can discover the Grass Animal Zoo which is set to open its doors to the public on Saturday (May 27).

Easigrass are behind the creation with some of the animals life-size – and some of them dwarf their real life cousins.

During the zoo walkabout you can also find out which other animals live in the wetlands and which of them can go for days without a sip of water.

For instance, hippos love water so much their name means "river horse" in Greek and camels droppings are so dry from not drinking water it can be used as fuel to make fires.

Don't forget you can also walk around the grounds and go bird spotting or see the ducks, otters and dragonflies.

Entry to the Grass Animal Zoo is free with paid admission to the centre.
