Billy Ocean has asked fans to "bring your dancing shoes" after he was announced as the headliner of a free festival in Isleworth.

The Grammy Award-winning singer of When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going has promised to perform all his hits at the Be Inspired Festival in Redlees Park, on Sunday September 13.

The R&B star, whose other songs include Caribbean Queen and Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car, has sold more than 30m records and won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 MOBO Awards.

"I am really looking forward to having a party at the Be Inspired Festival. Bring your dancing shoes, as we will be dancing and singing to all my hits," he said.

Other musicians lined up to perfom at the free family fun day include young singer-songwriter saxophonist Tyler Rix, who is a former West Ham United Academy player, and Sal Bashir, best known as the 'Asian Elvis'. Acts from the recent Hounslow Has Talent competition will also be taking to the stage.

Hounslow Council leader Steve Curran said: "I'm very excited to announce that Billy Ocean will headline the Be Inspired Festival in September.

"We promised top flight entertainment, so it's a real coup to secure Billy, who is undoubtedly one of the UK's most popular performers and a personal favourite of mine. I know that he will really wow Hounslow."

The one-day festival will take place five days before the Rugby World Cup kicks off up the road at Twickenham Stadium, and the Webb Ellis Cup for which teams will be competing will be on display in the park

The event, running from 11am-5pm, will also feature dance, fashion, food and drink, plus the chance to try your hand at a variety of sports.
