“Hello is anybody there?” I asked nervously but nobody was there. I was all alone. The last person left in the office, looking at all the paper on my desk that I, as the director had to sort out.

Suddenly the lights went off and I was floating in the air, but when the computer screen lit up something strange happened.

I found that I was on a boat in the middle of the sea being pushed into a small submarine that was blue, with the name THE DEEP in capital letters. A man called Captain Daley was shouting at me to get at least seven pictures of the sharks and write down notes of the shark’s behaviour. I felt scared when the captain said sharks, would they be sharks as big as houses or just small ones. A crane then lifted the sub up and dunked it into the sea.

When I was deeper down, a black hole with white mountains sticking out of it came out of the darkness. The shark looked at the under water camera then, abruptly the shark pounced at the camera. Luckily it didn’t eat the camera but it did knock out a screw. “Stupid sharks” I cursed. I decided that I would have to radio up to the mechanic and ask what to do.

The mechanic said that I would have to use the mechanical hand to pick up the screw and screw it back onto the camera. I pushed the button that said mechanical hand, a leaver to move the hand shot up. I moved the hand towards the lonely screw and picked it up, then adjusted it so it was right next to the camera. There was a button that said mechanical screwdriver so I pressed it, a screwdriver pushed out of the hand and started to twist round really quickly. The screw was in. I could use the camera again.

I took some pictures of the shark’s mouths and their teeth; I also took videos of how the sharks moved and some of small baby sharks which were really cute compared to the big ugly, daddy sharks. The mummy sharks were circling their young to protect them from predators.

I even saw a male shark catching a tuna fish, the tuna fish’s blood was everywhere and went all over my sub marine.

I did not know whether to go up or to get more pictures. I had become so interested that I decided to stay down and take more pictures. Suddenly out of nowhere came a tiger shark, I  radioed up to the captain and asked if I could stay down for a bit longer and find out about the tiger shark. The captain said yes, so I stayed down and got more information about sharks.

I found out in my research book that sharks don’t have proper bones and have something called cartilage, which is soft squidgy bones which enable you to bend more and are lighter. There are three hundred and fifty different species of shark; I also found out that some sharks give birth out of mermaid purses, which are like sacks with baby sharks inside. I saw a great white, with three rows of teeth. Sharks also have sensors that detect moving predators.

When I had enough pictures, videos and info for the captain, I radioed to him to say that I was coming up to the ship.

The crane lifted me up onto the ship and lowered me down onto the sub stand. Suddenly I found myself standing back in my office. “That was strange” I said exhaustedly. But was it true? I asked myself. Then I saw evidence of the strange adventure, a model of THE DEEP and a screwdriver with a mechanical hand sticking out of it. Were did that come from?

I stood there wondering for about twenty minutes. I was all alone again all alone………
