HOURS of painstaking painting and creative concentration were celebrated at two school art exhibitions.

At The Gallery, in Victoria Road, Ruislip, youngsters from Ruislip High, in Sidmouth Drive, proudly showed off the masterpieces they had been working on throughout the school term.

Parents and guests came to take in the professionally-displayed pieces and chatted with children about the inspiration behind their work.

It was a similar picture at Haydon School in Wiltshire Lane, Eastcote, whose in-house private viewing also drew admiring looks from parents.

The work was a mixture of A-level and GCSE material and would later be viewed by an examiner.

Shelley Grealish, head of art at Haydon, praised the youngsters and thanked the staff who helped them and encouraged them to take part in the exhibition.
