A HARROW dance school helped break the world record for the largest Bollywood dance class.

Sapnay School of Dance, which holds classes at Harrow High School, Gayton Road, and Fitness First, in the St George's Centre, gave a public routine in Trafalgar Square last Sunday.

After being taught for an hour, volunteers had to perform the routine for five minutes non-stop to break the record.

Ash Oberoi, artistic director, said: "We do not know the exact number of people that turned up yet, but it was hundreds.

"Twenty students came along and we taught the routine to members of the public. It was absolutely fantastic and a lovely achievement.

"The audience were amazing and picked up the routine quickly."

People from across London from the age of eight to 50 took part as the dance class was open to everyone, apart from professional dancers.

The world record was part of the Big Dance Breaking Record Day, hosted by the Mayor of London, BBC Blast and BBC London.
