An Edgware restaurant is hosting an exclusive exhibition of paintings by popular artist Beryl Cook.

The show, at Rocco, in Station Road, will feature a copy of Cook's most recently released work 'Drinkies', which was completed in 2006, two years before the artist's death. All exhibits will be available to buy.

Paintings will be on display on Saturday and Sunday, and on February 24 the restaurant will host a special evening with Jean Dennis, of Beryl Cook Exhibitions, who will be present to answer any questions on the work of Beryl Cook OBE.

The evening will include a two course supper for £8.95 and a complimentary glass of wine on arrival.  To book a place call 0208 958 0222.

The entire range of signed limited editions produced over the last 30 years can be viewed on www.berylcook.biz , with prices ranging from £285 - £5,000.

Cook started painting when living in Southern Rhodesia with her husband and young son, and continued to paint on returning to England during the 1960s, but only began to sell her work in the mid 1970s.

Her work is featured around the world and many of her signed limited edition prints published during the last 30 years have become rare and valuable collectors' pieces.

Despite having no formal art training a Beryl Cook original is now likely to sell for around £40,000. Celebrity collectors include Jackie Collins and Mick Jagger.
