Local author Delia-Rene Donaldson has created a play due to open in London this August.

The play, EXperiences, will be performed at LOST Theatre in Stockwell on Sunday (August 14) and documents the lives of four young women living in London.

The writer grew up in Ladbroke Grove, and first began writing in 2008 through her blog Vex in the City .

The blog is a comical account of the author's love life, sex and relationships, and helped her become a finalist in the UK Blog Awards in February.

Ms Donaldson found success in 2015 after the award-winning television programme she co-wrote, Venus vs Mars, premiered on Sky Living HD.

Ms Donaldson said: "EXperiences is based around four young professional black women living in London. They are all close friends from secondary school, individually going through different relationships status and issues.

"We witness first-hand the highs and lows of their relationships, and their battles to decide what is right or wrong. Because of their friendship they often look to each other for advice and this can be positive but also a hindrance.

"But regardless of the heartache and headache that they are going through with their men, they support each other and show the most important love to obtain, is the love you have for yourself."

Ms Donaldson said: "I was inspired to write it due to my past relationships and my relationship blog that I've written for over seven years as well as stories or situations that my readers would tell me about.

"The four women in the play are loosely based on different sides of me and experiences I have been through."

The performance will take place on Sunday August 14 at 7pm.

General tickets are now sold out, but there is a waiting list online if you would like your chance to see the play.
