A popular art gallery is preparing for its final exhibition before it is replaced with flats.

The Collective 2015 exhibition will be the last one put on by The West Bank Gallery, in Notting Hill, after it opened in 2011.

Alongside diverse work from photographers, ballpoint artists and sculptors, the exhibition will also feature a David Bromley original of Lily Allen that was painted for a front cover of Harper’s Bazaar.

Directors of the gallery say the building is being sold to developers who hope to build flats on the site.

The exhibition runs from April 27 to May 4, and organiser Danny Rose lamented the loss of the venue. He said: “It is a sad day for art and for London that this building will never host another exhibition.

“This wonderful building has been a major influencer on London art, and has provided opportunities for numerous emerging urban and street artists to establish their careers. It is such a shame that such an iconic and beautiful building is destined to become just another faceless block of flats.”

The directors of The West Bank Gallery are currently searching for another home for their exhibitions.

The Collective 2015 runs daily from 11am to 7pm.
