A set provoking stark and brutal expressionism promises to bring a production of one of Shakespeare's most popular plays to life.

The Questors Theatre is putting on Macbeth, the story of betrayal, paranoia and murder, from January 31 to February 7 in the Judi Dench Playhouse.

Local ArtsEd graduate Richard Graylin is taking on the lead role. He said: " It would be easy to play him as a two-dimensional psychopath who kills anyone who stands in his way, but the writing gives him so much more humanity than that.

"I think we've all been in situations where we have made a decision the results of which then grow into something over which we have no control. You don't have to have entertained thoughts of regicide to know what it feels like to want something so much, you'd do anything to attain it."

Tickets are £13.00, £12.00 for concessions, £7.00 for under-16s and students. The final Friday and Saturday costs £15.00, £14.00 for concessions, £8.00 for under-16s and students.

Bargain tickets are on offer at £6.50 on February 3.
