Chiswick's favourite fortnight festival - packed with everything from poetry and plays to music, art and photography - begins in June.

The 49th Bedford Park Festival, run by St Michael's and All Angels Church, in Chiswick, with support from local people and businesses, will host 31 events over 17 days, kicking off with The Green Days fete and craft fair on Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14.

There will be live music, fairground rides, a craft fair with 20 exhibitors, food and drink stalls, a children's corner, fancydress competition with an Alice in Wonderland theme, games, activities and competitions over the two days.

This year's festival will raise money for St Michael’s organ and parish rooms appeal, Msaada which helps restore dignity to the forgotten victims of the Rwandan genocide, The Upper Room who feed and support the community in need in West London and The Mulberry Centre in Isleworth, which provides support to all those affected by cancer.

Two new plays including the world premiere of Fondly Remembered will be introduced this year at the Tabard Theatre, between June 17 and 20, and a trio of poetic events will mark the 150th birthday of WB Yeats.

Other events during the festival include an Oscar Wilde evening and an interview with LBC's Beverley Turner about her new radio show, her booming ante-natal class and life with James Cracknell and her love of Chiswick.

Chiswick Picturehouse will host private pop-up screenings of sing-a-long Frozen for all the family and the award-winning film Pride, and there will be a range of concerts such as The London Welsh Rugby Club male voice choir who wowed audiences at the London Olympics closing ceremony, as well as jazz, opera and tango nights.

Festival favourites will be back including the Artists at Home, a summer exhibit showcasing 100 works by local artists, a photographic exhibition and competition.

Events will culminate in the festival mass and Bedford Park open gardens event on Sunday June 28.
