AFC Wimbledon slumped to their third home defeat on the trot against York City on Saturday.

The Dons failed to force a single save from away keeper Nick Pope and while Michael Coulson’s 43rd-minute winner was controversial, an unbelievable miss by Ryan Bowman would have seen the Minstermen’s victory all the more comfortable.

Boss Neal Ardley vowed to swing the axe after labelling the 1-0 defeat to York ‘so far short of not good enough it’s ridiculous.’

He fumed: “We were shocking – just not good enough. The game was won and lost at both ends of the pitch.

"Their two centre-forwards were excellent. They ran hard, bullied our two centre-halves, ran them, pressed them and got in their faces when they needed to."
