The Rugby World Cup is just around the corner and 15,000 additional tickets went on sale on Monday (July 27).

Supporters who missed out in the September 2014 ballot will have the chance to bag themselves a seat at the event.

Priority sale tickets will be up for grabs between July 27 and 29 (from 12 noon on Monday) before tickets go on general sale from Thursday (July 30).

Fans who applied for England and knockout matches at Twickenham in last year's ballot and are yet to secure seats will be given priority access.

Tickets sales for the tournament have already surpassed 2.15m, with the increase in ticket numbers expected to raise that number to 2.45m.

World Rugby chairman Bernard Lapasset said: "England 2015 is on track to be the biggest Rugby World Cup ever and with ticket demand continuing to grow we are confident that it will be a truly special, unmissable and record-breaking global celebration of rugby.

"Today's announcement of an increased ticketing capacity is great news for Rugby fans, major event enthusiasts and those who just want to experience what looks set to be the sporting event of the year and the biggest event in the UK in 2015.

"I have no doubt that England 2015 will reach out and inspire new audiences in the host nation and around the globe in a way no other Rugby World Cup has done.”
