Ealing Trailfinders can win the National One title on Saturday - and add a cherry on top by beating their closest rivals in front of a bumper crowd.

They head Rosslyn Park by nine points and need only two more from their last two games to bounce back after relegation last term.

But according to Ealing captain Tom Brown, Park are ready to wage war at Vallis Way.

“They’re a tough physical, side, and we know full well from our match earlier in the season that we won’t be able to relax for one moment against them.

“After the last match against us Park felt hard done by us and they will be out to prove that it wasn’t a just result.

“There is no better match for us to finish our home season, and I hope the people of Ealing know how much the players really appreciate the support we receive.

Trailfinders kept up momentum with a 45-12 away win over Blackheath on Saturday.

Seven tries and a five-point haul started with the familiar combination of a Llewelyn Jones lineout catch, a drive from the pack and Arthur Ellis dropping over the line.

Three minutes later Sam Wardingley raced in the second after Ward picked out Chris Kinloch with a cross-field kick and the Scotsman popped the ball up for Wardingley to enjoy a straightforward run in against his former side.

Last word: Phil Chesters receives

Two more tries quickly followed. First, Nik Grier opened Blackheath’s scoring when he replicated Ellis’ score after George Oram rose highest at a lineout. Then Harries raced from his own 22 as Trailfinders hit back immediately.

A dead period then saw the game come back to life when Llewelyn Jones swooped on a loose ball to supply Andy Reay a simple run to the line.

Prop Kevin Davis pulled off a glorious show and give to set Harries free for his second, but the impressive Griffiths wiggled his way over as the hosts continued to keep the ball in hand.

The last word went to the visitors though. Daniels broke through the heart of the Blackheath defence and offloaded to Phil Chesters to score.
