Ealing lost their top-of-the table clash with London Scottish 38-17 at a packed Trailfinders Sports Ground on Sunday afternoon.

The home side found themselves 9-0 down early on after missing three penalties of their own but hit back to lead 10-9 at the interval with a beautifully crafted try.

But they were unable to get out of their own half during a one-sided second period as the Scottish converted constant pressure into points.

The visitors eventually ran in four ties for a bonus point, while a late Ealing try was no more than a consolation.

Both teams went into the match unbeaten, but the visitors had won all their matches, whereas Ealing had dropped points in drawing with Rugby Lions the week before, leaving them in second place.

But any hopes home fans had of seeing their team leap-frog the Scottish to the top of National Three South division were blown way after a tight first half.
