Pinner & Grammarians travel to face Northolt on Saturday in the knowledge that they will secure promotion to Herts/Middlesex Division Three if they avoid defeat.

With their domestic programme having taken a back seat due to the Six Nations, Pinner return to action needing just a draw in one of their final three games to secure promotion. League leaders Hatfield have 22 points, four ahead of Pinner.

Barring a major disaster, the Shaftsbury Playing Fields outfit have all but sewn up promotion, but they will get their chance to ensure it this weekend.

Meanwhile, Pinner U12s lost by five tries to a strong Grasshoppers side. The visitors got the better of early exchanges and were soon three tries to the good, despite some fine tackling from Bradley Smith and Sam Williams.

The hosts, with three U11s in the side, rallied well and continued to play competitive rugby, creating several chances of their own, but without adding the finishing touch.

In the second half, Pinner grew in confidence and almost got across the try line after some fine work by Harrison Davies and Bradley Gilroy.

Liam O'Riordan, Ben George and man of the match Dominic Seiler were also impressive for Pinner.

Further down, Kai Gordon was the U9s player of the week, while wing Adam Jeeves won the plaudits for the U8s. Gordon was on the scoresheet in Pinner's 4-2 triumph over Grasshoppers after they had drawn the first game 1-1.

The U8s beat Grasshoppers 9-6 in their first game, but were edged out of the second 11-10.

The youngsters wil compete in the Middlesex Tournament at Ruislip RFC on Sunday.

* Michael Keen's converted try was enough to secure Harrow RFC U11s a hard-fought 7-5 triumph over Datchworth. Andrew Nurse added the extras before a late unconverted try by Datchworth set up a tense finale.

In the second game, Harrow were caught cold early on and found themselves 7-0 down inside the first minute. Datchworth scored another converted try for a 14-0 lead at the break.

A try reduced the arrears for Harrow, but Nurse failed to convert, giving Datchworth a 14-5 win.
