Harlequins have denied signing shamed sprinter Dwain Chambers as a sprints coach.

Reports in the national press had linked the GB star, who last week lost his appeal against an Olympic ban after being caught taking banned substances, with the club.

Ironically, Chambers had been seen at the Twickenham Stoop last Saturday watching rugby league side Castleford, who he had an unsuccessful trial with.

However, Quins chief executive Mark Evans dismissed the reports on Chambers coming to Quins' union side as inaccurate and misleading.

He added: "Dwain Chambers has not, and will not, be employed by the club in any capacity.

"The sprints coach currently used by Quins players is the highly-rated and well-known specialist, Tony Lester, coach to many past and present GB sprinters."
