Captain Matt Cook says London Broncos are getting tired of waiting for that elusive first win and are ready to finally take maximum points this weekend, writes Dave Lawrenson.

Broncos came the closest yet to registering their first win of the season against Catalan Dragons at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

But in a pulsating contest they lost 24-22 so go to Hull Kingston Rovers on Sunday in need of another good performance and a bit of luck.

“We fought tooth and nail for it and it’s just disappointing,” said Broncos captain Matt Cook. ”We know we can win a game. It’s great that people are supporting us and saying that it’s going to come soon but we’re sat in the sheds knowing that it should be coming now.

“We’re ready for that win, we’re due that win and in the last two games we’ve just missed out.”

It’s not going to be easy up in Hull.

Rovers lie eighth in the table and will be full of confidence after their 38-24 victory over bitter rivals Hull FC on Saturday.

At least Broncos head coach Joe Grima will be able to pick from virtually a fully fit squad.

Long-term absentees Erjon Dollapi and Will Lovell both had a run out for the London Skolars at the weekend while new recruit, French forward Maxime Herold made his Super League debut in Manchester.

That leaves just star winger Kieran Dixon on the side lines. Dixon suffered a serious knee injury while playing for England Knights in the off season which required surgery. His recovery is going well and he is expected back by July.
