There was a comical moment in Chiswick's 25-7 win over Hitchin on Saturday which kept them top of London Four NW - courtesy of Marc Jones.

Chiswick were already 20-5 up with time running down when Jones caught a beautiful kick from Keith Luckman, rounded his marker and scorched down the line.

Unfortunately, due to the close proximity of the adjacent pitch, he found it was the wrong try-line he was hurtling towards.

Fortunately for Chiswick the game was won by then, with Jones having got them underway when he steamed in off a pass from Tom Duffy, who duly converted.

Then, after a successful Duffy penalty, South African star Hansie Bezuidenhout finished off a move he started at the base of a scrum by charging through for try number two.

Hitchin pulled a try back, but prop Stuart Parmeter was next over for Chiswick after Jono Gibson found some space.

Ben Cheston then added the icing on the cake after Adie Lewis's pass found him via the careless hands of a Hitchin back. [25a0] A SECOND successive defeat on Saturday at St Albans saw Grasshoppers' London Three NW promotion hopes hit the buffers.

They found themselves 11-0 down at the break after conceding an unconverted try and two penalties.

And when St Albans added a second unconverted try after the interval, it was game over, although Gerywn Hughes did pull a penalty back for Gs to make it 16-3.
