Grasshoppers promotion hopes have gone up in smoke following a third successive defeat.
Going into the Christmas break, Gs looked a good bet for a second successive promotion in their first season back in London Three NW.
But, since beating London New Zealand in their first game back after the festive season, Gs have gone off the rails and went down 27-8 at home to Finchley on Saturday.
All they had to show for their efforts at half-time was a Gerwyn Hughes penalty as the visitors led 15-3, and two further Finchley tries after the break clinched the game.
Hooker Jason Judkins did get a consolation try late on to make the score more respectable for Gs.
The only consolation they could take were some outstanding displays from Thomas Orishaguna and David Madigan, both of whom have come through the club's youth system.
