London Broncos have signed Australian prop Nick Slyney, reports Dave Lawrenson.

The 25-year-old from Queensland made his NRL debut for North Queensland Cowboys in 2008 and has been with the Brisbane Broncos for the last two seasons.

Slyney’s grandfather was born in London so he is able to get an ancestry visa.

“I'm excited to be given the opportunity to play for the London Broncos in the Super League,” he said. “The opportunity to live and play overseas is one my girlfriend and I are extremely eager to take up as a new chapter of my footy career.”

London Broncos head coach Tony Rea has been tracking the player for some time.

“We've been talking with Nick for the last four months,” Rea added. “He has shown outstanding character and will prove to be a strong part of the capital’s pack.”
