Ealing Trailfinders’ director of coaching Ben Ward hopes his side can pick up where they left off at Old Albanians on Saturday.

Trailfinders scored 12 unanswered points in the second half as they got their National One campaign up and running with a 22-10 victory over Loughborough Students at the weekend.

And after being tied 10-10 at the interval, Ward was pleased with the second half showing by his team. He said: “We started to look after the ball better and caused Loughborough problems as a result.”

Arthur Ellis crossed the whitewash twice while a Kevin Davis touch down, a penalty try and a James Love conversion completed the scoring.

Ward added: Five points is what we wanted. It wasn't the best overall performance but I'm sure that will come with time.

"We had a tough pre-season but that's no substitute for the real thing. I'm pleased to have the first victory on the board.

"We know Old Albanians quite well and it's going to be a tough game there. But we know what we have to do and hopefully we can get the win."
