Ealing Trailfinders 22-10 Loughborough Students

Ealing Trailfinders kicked off their new campaign beating Loughborough Students by a comfortable 12 points on their new 4G turf at Trailfinders Sports Ground.

Arthur Ellis scored twice with Kevin Davis and James Love contributing to Ealing's win, while William Edwards and Rhys Owen both put Loughborough on the board.

Trailfinders got off to a perfect start through Ellis; Carwyn Jones receiving the ball from the line-out before the pack drove for the try-line with flanker Ellis touching down.

The visitors, meanwhile, responded instantly through Edwards; England U20 scrum-half Henry Taylor launching the ball into Edwards' path who powered into the corner to score.

Owen then gave the Students the lead picking up a Ben Ward pass before running through to score a try, but Ellis levelled the scores 10-10 just before half-time latching onto the end of another line-out.

In the second half front-row Davis regained the hosts lead after receiving the ball from Nathan Buck who showed good pace to set up the fifth try of the game.

Love then rounded off the match after referee James Warburton rewarded a penalty try to Ealing.

Ward's team collected their first win of the new season and will travel to St Albans on Saturday to take on Old Albanians.
