London Broncos coach Joe Grima says his team need to produce their battling spirit from the first whistle after watching another fightback fall short.

The Broncos are still looking for their first Super League win after a 24-40 loss to Widnes Vikings but fought until the end at the Hive.

James Greenwood, Atelea Vea and Matt Cook all went over in the latter stages as the hosts finished strongly, but ultimately it was more disappointment for Grima.

He said:"We do tend to come back, but it's not a question of fighting back too late. It's a question of playing for 80 minutes, and again we were unable to do that.

"Combined with 12 or 13 errors, we're a long way off our first win after today's performance.

"It's disappointing as it wasn't through brilliance on their part, just basic skill on ours, fundamental under-six level stuff, which is very frustrating as a coach."

Broncos face Wigan Warriors on Saturday.
