Camogie: Tara booked their place in the Junior Championship final against Croydon after a convincing win against Fr Murphys at Tir Chonaill Park on Sunday.
Tara got off to a flying start with Denise Gilligan scoring 1-1 within the first five minutes and Sheila Fernandes scoring a looping point just after.
Great play by Joanne Hamilton led to another brilliant goal from the halfway line by Denise Gilligan, while Tara's Niamh Pentony slotted in Tara's third.
Murphys made some runs at Tara's backs but Orla Maguire and Eimear O'Connor cleared the lines well and when Murphys earned a 45, Sinead Kirk made no mistake and knocked it over the bar.
A minute before half-time Grace Hamilton pulled on the sliotar and with the funny bounce deceiving the Murphy's keeper, the ball went straight into the back of the net. The teams went in at half time, Tara leading 4-4 to one point.
Murphys came flying out of the trap with Sinead Kirk scoring 1-1 from frees just after the interval.
Tara replied instantly - Joanne Hamiliton scored a point from an acute angle followed by another point from Gilligan and a goal from Niamh Pentony.
A good move by Tara ended with Sheila Fernandes pulling on the ball, hitting Joanne Hamilton's foot and going in for another goal.
Gilligan picked off another couple of scores with her next goal coming from alertness to Murphys short puck.
Tara's super-sub Bridget Shields made an instant impact on the game, receiving the ball into her hand and straight into the back of the net.
Her second goal was just as good, ending the game 9-8 to 1-2.
Mairead Carroll and Catherine Dwyer marshalled Tara's midfield and overall Tara had too much for Murphys.
