Britain's Naomi Broady made a stunning comeback against Timea Baras as she reached the second round of Wimbledon on the opening day.

Broady lost the first set to her Hungarian opponent 6-1 but then won the second set tie-break and going on to a 6-0 whitewash in the decider.

The Lancashire lass with the 120mph serve got her act together, having been erratic and uncertain at the start, to put together her first win at these championships.

Broady was delighted with her win and joins men's defending champion Andy Murray in the second round.

The news of Two other young Brits, Kyle Edmund and Dan Evans, was not so good, both going two sets down to Austria's Andreas Halder-Maurer and Russia's Andrey Kuznetsov respectively.

Elsewhere there were shocks when America!s highly rated Sloane Stephens lost to Russia's Maria Kirilenko despite saving a clutch of match points while popular Aussie Sam Stosur Went out tamely in straight sets to Belgium's Yanina Wickmeyer.
