COMBINED COUNTIES PREMIER: W indsor 2  Wembley 0

WEMBLEY’S worrying form continued on Saturday as they slumped to defeat at Windsor.

Ian Bates’s boys have now won just two of their last 10 in all competitions and this weekend’s result made it four straight losses for the Lions.

Wembley now lie 14th in the Combined Counties Premier, with only three points separating them from 19th placed Ash United, who they host on Saturday.

Windsor made a strong start at the weekend, but Robert Lazarczuk failed to convert an early spot kick to see the deadlock remain unbroken.

The visitors didn’t learn their lesson and conceded another penalty before the half-hour, Ben Harris taking possession of the ball this time and firing home for the opener.

Harris was running the show and Windsor could afford the luxury of withdrawing their star man in the second-half as he was replaced by Josh Parker.

Wembley made their own changes as Rob Byron and Freddie O’Connell were thrown on by Bates in an attempt to rescue a share of the points.

But it was not to be and Windsor rubbed salt into the wound in stoppage time as substitute Dan Sears doubled the lead to put the result beyond doubt.

Wembley’s EL Records Premier Challenge Cup third round clash with Rayners Park Vale fell victim to the weather on Tuesday night.
