HARROW Weald beat the Middlesex County Bowling Association last Tuesday by 72 shots to 56, thereby winning a Bannerette from the county.

Two rinks cancelled each other out with 11 shot margins.

But John Enticott's rink sealed the match for Harrow Weald with a splendid 16 shot win.

After the game a three course salad meal with wine was provided by Weald's ladies, followed by short speeches from the Harrow Weald President and Captain, with a generous response and gifts from Middlesex President Tony Paulley.

Weald started the Bidgood League with a closely fought win at Pinner, and continued their good run with a Challenge Shield win over Stanmore.

Michael Kanjia, the club's vice-captain and current club champion, has got off to a good start in the Bowls England National Men's Over 55s Singles Competition.

He beat Richard Kirk, a top bowler from Wealdstone BC, at home, and then went to Uxbridge BC, where he won a very tight match 21-20 against the current Middlesex Champion Ron Leleox.
