Harefield U15s A 82-5
Uxbridge U15s A 86-2
Uxbridge won by eight wickets
UXBRIDGE U15s A opened their league campaign with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Harefield.
The Tigers kicked off the domestic season in fine style on the back of a friendly win over Hayes and a cup victory over Bessborough.
Those two previous triumphs had clearly given the teenagers confidence and it showed in their performance against the Hares.
Uxbridge’s opening bowler and wicket keeper were unavailable for the clash but the team took to the field with nine troops, including an U10 and U13s B player.
Dhiraj Khullar and Sulaymaan Dar started well for Uxbridge with the ball, however a big score remained possible until Aman Sutdhar was introduced into the attack.
He picked off the dangerous Dan Ogden and claimed two more wickets in two deliveries in his next over, narrowly missing out on his hat-trick, as he finished with figures of 12-3.
After nine overs Uxbridge were back to their full compliment as the two missing players turned up to help restrict Harefield to 82.
Amaan Quadri and Harpreet Sangha took to the crease purposely in response, putting on a first-wicket stand of 33, with Sangha showing the way in particular.
Quadri then teamed up with Sutdhar to continue the good work, with Sutdhar letting fly to smash a couple of sixes before eventually falling with 15 runs needed for the win.
Khullar entered the fray to help get Uxbridge over the line and Quadri finished the game job with a brilliant six over wide mid-on.
