UWE Rosler has told Clayton Donaldson to use his instinct more and he will continue to find the net at Preston tomorrow.

Donaldson went two and a half months without scoring before ending his drought with the second goal in Brentford's 2-0 win over Rochdale on Saturday.

Bees boss Rosler has backed his striker, who has only netted six times this season compared to 28 for Crewe last season, to continue back on the goal trail against Preston.

He said: “Clayton scores goals when he doesn't have to think too much, when he just uses his instinct, and against Rochdale he just attacked the ball without thinking.

“Sometimes when he has too much time he makes the wrong decision, but it was a very important goal for a player in the right place at the right time.

“You only have to look at the goals he has scored, like the one at Notts County, where he just hit it from 40 yards out on the touchline and it flew in.

“What he gives to the team is invaluable, he gives us 40-50 yards in every attack. He is very important to us, and now he has scored again his confidence will be flowing, and I will back him to score a lot more.”
