NAS Bashir has warned Hayes and Yeading's youngsters that they will be shown the door at the club if there is a repeat of last night's horror show against Newport County.

While the Hayes and Yeading boss (pictured) has chopped and changed his squad this season, he has remained loyal to his principle of giving young players a chance.

But Bashir says he will run out of patience if they do not show the stomach for Hayes and Yeading's relegation battle.

"I am working with young players and young players make mistakes," said Bashir. "But the one I have to say is that they have to stand up and be counted.

"There is no hiding place when they get into the team. If they do not want to stay in our team, then they will have to look for another club. We are part-time and nearly every club is full-time. They boys train well every time that they come in, but it is no good training well and then not transferring that into a match.

"They (Newport) had a lot of players with league and Conference experience. At the moment, we are chopping and changing and trying to gel a team together. It is difficult when you just train twice a week and then have to put a team together.

"But we have a lot of young players in the team. But it is my job to keep improving them, make them stronger, and gain the experience to keep us in the league."

However, Bashir says there can be no excuses for the shoddy defending that characterised last night's 4-0 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Newport County.

"It was not like they created opportunities to score as we conceded goals from long throw-ins and corners," he added. "We should be able to deal with that and it is something that we have to address quickly."
