Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club (ETRFC) emphatically saw off the challenge of Sedgley Park at Vallis Way to put a recent run of two defeats behind them.
The home side dominated proceedings in front of their home crowd, running home nine tries on their way to a resounding 59-17 win.
It was recent signing Adam Preocanin who started the rout after seven minutes, breaking out from an ETRFC scrum by the Blaydon line. Three minutes later and ETRFC extended their lead as Sam Wardingley scored what was his first of five tries on a wonderful afternoon for the winger.
With ETRFC 14-0 up, Sedgley Park did hit back with a try but tries from Sam Wardingley and Sam Shires before the break gave the hosts a 26-5 cushion.
ETRFC came out in the second half with the same ruthless attitude they had showed in the first 40 minutes, enjoying spells of breathtaking rugby.
It took the hosts four minutes to break through the Blaydon line again; as Sam Wardingley was single handily ensuring ETRFC would be getting the all important bonus point.
Sedgley Park player Simon Parrot then gave the away support something to cheer and he ran the length of the pitch to score what was the try of the day.
Unfortunately for the guests, they could only cheer another consolation try as a two further tries from Sam Wardingley, one from Ronald Mclean-Dents and one from Andrew Henderson made certain that the hosts would be getting their promotion challenge back on track.
ETRFC are now only a point behind Rosslyn Park in National League One and will be hoping to build on their 59-17 win at Loughborough next weekend.
